Help the British Heart Foundation keep vulnerable hearts beating
-Heart disease doesn’t care who it kills — Let’s take steps to beat it -
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) has launched its annual Humber Bridge Walk and is asking the people of Yorkshire, Humberside and Lincolnshire to get on their feet and take part in this fun family event.
The Humber Bridge Walk is open to everyone and you can walk as many laps of the famous landmark as you choose. One return lap is approximately four miles and you can start from the north or south side of the bridge. This year the BHF is giving all adult walkers a BHF t-shirt on registration to create a ribbon of red from one bank to the other! Children and adults will also receive a medal on completion as a lasting memento of the day.
The BHF are also looking for enthusiastic people on both sides of the bridge to help with the promotion of the event which could be as simple as displaying posters and leaflets in your local area or helping out on the day of the walk by putting up marquees or marshalling.
The event takes place on Sunday 20 September 2009. Registration opens at 9am and the event finishes at 2pm.
