Please let me tell you about the next British Heart Foundation (BHF) February campaign in 2010 - Red for Heart.
February is National Heart Month and we will be asking people in the community to once again take a stand against the UK’s biggest killer - heart disease - by supporting the Red for Heart campaign.
The campaign had a very successful year in 2009 and we received excellent media coverage and local support for the campaign. My aim is to make the campaign even bigger and better in 2010 throughout the North and East Yorkshire area! We have lots of red-themed fundraising ideas and below is a link to the list for your information.
The National Wear Red day this year, in support of the campaign, will take place on Friday 26 February 2010 and we will be asking as many places to take part as possible.
Any support you can offer during the campaign will be greatly appreciated, especially if you would like to organise a Red themed event or take part in our Wear Red day? There will be a number of materials available such as a leaflets and posters, Red for Heart packs and pin badges. Please let me know if you would like a 2010 red for heart pack sending once they are available in January?
If this is something that you would like to be involved in or you would like any help organising an event please don’t hesitate to contact me as I will definitely provide any support I can. Please visit the British Heart Foundation website here for more information and to order resources (or let me know if you need anyof the materials mentioned above and I will get these sent to you).
The BHF is the nation’s heart charity undertaking pioneering research into all aspects of heart disease, from causes and safer drugs to improving surgical techniques. Supporting and caring for heart patients is also a vital role for the charity, for example, by funding BHF nurses in the community and pieces of equipment in local hospitals. We also believe in education and provide vital information to help people reduce their own risk of dying prematurely from a heart or circulatory related illness.
Many thanks for any support you can offer as we would not be able to continue our vital work without it. I would be extremely grateful if you can pass this information on to anyone who you think may like to take part such as colleagues, friends and family and display this on your intranet / newsletters. I am contactable at any time via email: by clicking Lucy Watson Tel: 01904 639308 or mobile: 07802 755798.
