Calling all runners and aspiring runners, HERIB, your local charity for blind and partially sighted people, have 15 GUARANTEED PLACES for the GREAT NORTH RUN and are looking for volunteers to undertake this inspiring challenge!!!

The Great North Run is the most popular half marathon in the world, and one of the most exciting events in the sporting calendar. In 2009 this wonderful event will take place on Sunday 19th September 2010, starting in Newcastle city centre and finishing 13.1 miles later in South Shields.

With its uniquely vibrant atmosphere, huge crowds of supporters, and a bustling charity village, the Great North Run is a fun and rewarding way to challenge yourself, get fit, and support your local charity for blind and partially sighted people.

HERIB is a local independent charity providing services and support to local people with sight loss since 1864. We currently help approximately 2500 blind and partially sighted people in Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire. We are a local charity helping local people and rely entirely on public support; from fundraising and donations in order to finance the day to day costs of providing our services.
