The popular Bridlington-based family group describe their music as ‘hillbilly skiffle’ - an infectious blend of blues, folk and country. Pete (guitar, harmonica and vocals) and Janey (double bass and vocals) are regularly upstaged by their children Mattie (mandolin, kazoo and vocals) and Lewi (washboard, whistles and percussion). The Alley Cats have performed in street and music festivals throughout the Europe and the UK and have won major prizes in several national and international busking and street performance competitions. Their great sound - powerful vocals driving guitar, and mandolin, crazy kazoos and foot-stomping rhythms and the street appeal of their costumes, banter with the crowd and sunny, good-time feel they are guaranteed to keep any audience happy.
