HERIB Launches Challenges 2008
Ever dreamed of trekking the highest mountain in the world? Walking the North Yorkshire Moors? Perhaps jumping out of a plane from 15,000ft? If none of those tickles your fancy how about a bike ride from London to Paris or competing in the Great North Run?
For our beloved pooches, for the 6th year we will be hosting our renowned “Dogs Walking for the Blind”. Have your dog sponsored to walk across the Humber Bridge a prize and certificate for all dogs taking part.
Also HERIB will once again be organising their Business Challenge 2009 ideal for local companies to take part in the exciting team building event.
In 2008 HERIB have an event for everyone!
Everest Trek
The trip takes place in October; you will be trekking for 11 days and walking at high altitude. This challenge is strenuous but achievable to those who are willing to put in the necessary training. This really is a once in a life time experience and we are looking for a maximum of 16 people to make up The HERIB Team.
Skydiving
Imagine standing at the edge of an open doorway in an aircraft flying at 15,000 feet - the noise of the engines and the wind ringing in your ears with only the outline of distant fields below. Now imagine leaning forward out of that doorway and letting go - falling forward into the clouds, diving down through the air as you start freefalling at over 120mph! Then imagine the peace and quiet as the canopy opens, the steering toggles come down either side of you and you begin a tranquil parachute descent from a mile up in the air, steering yourself back down to the centre of the drop zone below. Imagine being able to do this for FREE whilst harnessed to a professional freefall parachute instructor and at the same time being able to help your worthwhile local charity! Stop imagining, contact us now and it could be real… if you dare.
This is literally the chance of a lifetime!... So what are you waiting for? The team will be jumping on the 12 July AND 23 August at Hibaldstow airfield with transport provided.
‘Trust me, I have done it, it really is a truly amazing experience’ Melinda O’Reilly, Fundraising Manager at HERIB.
