Breast Cancer treatments can have some distressing side effects that can affect not only the appearance, but can badly knock self-confidence and self-esteem too. It can mean a different body shape due to surgery, weight gain/loss, problems with skin and nails, and when your hair grows back, a different texture/colour, or even curly hair instead of straight! It can be a lot to cope with on top of recovery from your treatment regime.

The annual HER Breast Friends Pink Pamper Day, now in its third year, aims to provide a FREE day of relaxation, inspiration, encouragement, and rejuvenation to help promote a sense of well being for local people affected by Breast Cancer, in a very practical way.

The Event will provide an indulgent day of complementary and beauty therapies plus various workshops, exhibition area, use of the hotel’s leisure facilities, and even the opportunity for a bit of retail therapy too!

‘ A day to enjoy ‘

The HER Breast Friends Pink Pamper Day event will be held at The Village Hotel and Leisure Club, Priory Park, Hull on Saturday 26th April 2008 and will cater for up to 100 breast cancer patients from Hull and the East Riding area.

The free day will include a choice of complementary and beauty therapies, lunch, various workshops and guest speakers focusing on ‘wellbeing’ and will include mind, body and spirit, incorporating health, hair, beauty and style.

The costs are borne by fundraising events, and sponsorship from local companies and individuals.

Qualified complementary therapists, workshop facilitators and others, who are all very kindly volunteering their time and skills, are staffing the event.

There are still some places for breast cancer patients available, but these must be pre-booked prior to the event.
